Terms and Conditions

All castings are coded and priced per set or group unless otherwise indicated. Please also note that all designs, including stationary engines do not include bar stock, fasteners etc, which must be selected by the customer from the catalogue. The only exception to this is the 'popular range', which can be found between codes 35/072 and 35/110 and these sets include materials and fasteners to complete.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHARGE AT PRICES RULING AT DATE OF DESPATCH OR COLLECTION OF ORDER.

PRIVATE CUSTOMERS: We accept Credit Card payments by VISA or MasterCard. Please note that we are unable to obtain Credit Card authorization unless the current Card Expiry Date is quoted and CV2 number. Switch/Maestro Cards also require either Issue number or Valid From Date.

ORDERS: We endeavor to despatch all orders within 2 days from receipt, subject to stock availability.

TELEPHONED ORDERS: will be accepted for Credit Card payment as outlined above. Please give full description, product code and quantities .

ADVANCED ORDERS FOR COLLECTION: we are please to accept telephone orders for collection please follow guidelines as for above ordering. Special orders must be covered by Credit Card.

VALUE ADDED TAX (VAT): This is levied on all UK, whether by Mail Order of Counter Sales at the current rate, with specified exceptions, as applicable at the time of sale. All other destination overseas where orders are sent direct to the customer or exempt from VAT, although Import Duty may be liable in the country or receipt. 

POSTING/PACKING - CARRIAGE/PACKING: this is charged on all despatches. Please make allowances for these costs when ordering, not forgetting that for UK/EU despatches, VAT is charged on the total cost of the order including this item, as part of the taxable service provided.

DESPATCHES: these will be taken in order of receipt to ensure fairness to all our valued customers. All invoiced despatches will be accompanied by a combined Price Invoice/Delivery note which may be taped to the outside of the Parcel inside a transparent envelope marked 'document enclosed', or inside a parcel. This invoice reference should be quoted on all enquiries concerning the delivery. All overseas despatches are charged insurance, which we apply according to the value of the goods. Any items sent uninsured at the customer's request will be sent only at the customer's responsibility on the case of loss or damage.

INVOICE/DELIVERY NOTES: These are priced at day of despatch, unless otherwise agreed, and certain notations are used when we are unable to include items in the consignment.

T.O.S: Temporarily out of stock. Items marked so have not been back-ordered as deliveries from our suppliers are likely to be extended.

O.O.P: Refers to books which are Out of Print

W/D: Withdrawn or obsolete. No longer available from us

May we suggest that you retain you Despatch Invoice on file for reference, date of purchases etc. Should there be need, we can only locate a Mail Order invoice copy by the relevant number, without which, we are unable to completely satisfy any complaint.

CHECKING DELIVERY: we regret that we are unable to accept claims for shortages, incorrect goods, or damage in transit, unless notified within three days of receipt of parcel. Written confirmation of a telephone claim is required for shortages of damage. Goods shall also be checked upon receipt for suitability for the purpose they are intended. Please quote all relevant invoice numbers in such cases. Any parcel 'damaged in transit must be signed for as 'damaged' where a signature is required. Failure to do so will invalidate your claim for shortages. Please note all orders are now packed on CCTV to monitor claims for shortages

SAFE PLACE DELIVERY: By selecting this option and providing 'safe place' instructions you accept full liability for the delivery of this parcel. Any subsequent loss of this parcel is entirely your responsibility and you cannot make any claim against Reeves 2000 for this delivery. This service is not available with all couriers however where possible any 'safe place' instructions will be provided to the courier

GUARANTEE: whilst every effort is made to provide suitable castings and other items for your project, we suggest that you confirm that they are satisfactory prior to any machining. We regret that we are unable to accept any machined items for credit or replacement except as below. All our castings are of best commercial quality and are manufactured to BS specifications where possible. Occasionally an unseen flaw may be discovered later than the 28 day return period during your machining operation. Any such castings or materials returned to us, and accepted as faulty will be replaced free of charge, but we regret that we are unable to entertain claims for labour or other expenditure, other than return postage (2nd class post only). If you chose to return your item/s via an alternative method we will not refund the additional postage costs. Overseas customers should advise in writing or by telephone, email or fax before returning faulty goods. We will then issue instructions on return procedure. All models in our catalogue are intended for amateur construction and have not been designed for commercial interests.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: Please note all items returned, unopened/unused, are subject to current 'Consumer Contracts Regulations'. Goods must be returned in their original condition and must by unopened/unused. The cost of returning unopened/unused goods is the responsibility of the purchaser.  Goods must be returned within 14 days of date of receipt. Postage costs for returns are at the expense of the purchaser. Please see separate terms for drawings, pressure gauges, laser cut frames and boiler kits.

PRESSURE GAUGES: We regret these are not supplied on approval and we are unable to accept their return for credit or exchange.

DRAWINGS: We regret these are not supplied on approval and we are unable to accept their return. 

LASER CUT FRAMES/BOILER KITS: We regret these are not supplied on approval and we are unable to accept their return for credit or exchange. These are not standard stock items and are cut to order. Payment for these items may be required at time of order and not on despatch.

Copper Tube: We regret this is not supplied on approval and we are unable to accept its return for credit or exchange. All copper tube is cut to order.

BOILER MATERIALS, TUBES ETC: To ease problems of packing and despatch, please state the minimum lengths of tube acceptable and/or minimum sheet sizes. Tube is purchased from the mill in hard-drawn straight lengths and we do not coil for sizes greater than 3/16" diameter (5mm). Sheet brass and copper in thicknesses greater than 1.6mm (16 swg) is lever sheared, not guillotined, and thus unsuitable for horological and other work.

WHEEL CASTINGS: These are not normally sold singly, except by special arrangement, or to replace mis-machined items. Purchase number and/or sales slip should be quoted when ordering replacement wheels for the above purposes.

MANUFACTURING FACIILTIES: We regret that we do not have such facilities

TRADE DESCRIPTION ACT: We try to describe our goods as accurately but should there be any error, we would appreciate you advice so that we may make due correction as required.
